Secret Teachings of JesusMay 6, 2007: Session 1 Part 6 Babaji: Has anybody here had a near-death experience besides me? Audience: Yes. Babaji: So, what happens at the time of death? The whole life goes before your consciousness. Isn’t it? It’s just like a tape recorder and you rewind the tape. All the incidences, all of the pictures, all of the experiences, all of the impressions in the mind go before your consciousness. I saw my whole life, God showed me my whole life, and He pointed somewhere in the middle and said, “You are here, so you have to go back.” [I said] “No, I don’t want to go back.” So, what we are going to think of at the time of death, what is going to be our state of consciousness at the time of death? What is our consciousness throughout our whole life? The sum of all those impressions becomes our consciousness at death. That’s why we perform spiritual discipline throughout our whole life: to create many impressions of spiritual quality, so that at the time of death we remember the spiritual qualities, and we automatically attain a spiritual existence in the next life. Or at least a much, much better quality of life Audience: Wasn’t to be supposed that we are living and evolving gradually. For example; if you leave a child behind in this life, don’t you have in the next life time to create something like an organization for children or something? Babaji: Now, you are talking about karma, right? OK, spiritual process are more powerful than karma. So, if you are in spiritual consciousness, we can neutralize the karma, even our bad activities. But without that, then we get exactly what we give. And what we experience in the future is exactly the same quality as our actions in present. We’ll go into the law of karma in great detail next week. Audience: So, we are talking about when the soul confronts death, he forgets everything, so where is the spiritual knowledge then? Babaji: This is a very deep question. The soul is not alone in the body; God is also there as the witness. So, even though we may forget, He remembers everything. And he arranges our situation in the next life to exactly reflect our needs to our karma. Audience: What happens to the soul when cloning occurs? Babaji: That just refers to the body. It’s simply a way of reproduction. Just like some animals are reproducing in ways, way different from humans. For example some worms just split into two different parts. You see, like that. That’s a kind of cloning. Audience: Do they have a soul then? Babaji: Sure, everything living has a soul. Or I should say, soul is present within all life. Soul is present everywhere. Try to understand that the idea of location is material, because it’s limited. For example right now, we think we’re sitting in this room, because we’re looking with our senses. But if I thing of a friend who lives in India, in Mount Abu-Abu. I can be there; there is no traveling, there is no motion, no movement, instantly I’m there. Or if I think of God, I’m with God. There is no traveling. The soul is present everywhere, or can be present anywhere, depending on our desire, and of course our karma. But when we attain full spiritual awareness, we become completely free. We can be anywhere we want to be. Audience: So, a ghost is a soul too? Babaji: Absolutely, a soul with a subtle body, a body made of energy. It has a mind, but no physical body. There is a lot to know about the soul. Audience: I am confused, I know two theories. One is says that we can be God by spiritual development. The other one is that we are not God, and we’ll never be. We are only made in His image. So, which one is correct? Babaji: What is the definition of God? He who has all power, all knowledge, all fame, all beauty, all renunciation, all good qualities in an infinite amount. OK, can you show me anybody who is like that? Audience: No! Babaji: Then nobody can be God but God. God is always God, and we are always souls, because everything spiritual is eternal. So, if we’re not God now, there no way possible for us to become God in the future. Audience: So, that’s the confusion. Babaji: The confusion is, people don’t understand the difference between material and spiritual. Material is temporary, spiritual is eternal. OK, so God is spiritual, right? That means God is eternal. So, God is God. And we’re souls—also eternal, because we’re emanations of God, reflections of God, but tiny. If you had the ability to be God, we would be God right now. And we would be able to demonstrate unlimited power, unlimited knowledge, unlimited fame, unlimited beauty, everything. But we can’t, so we’re not, and we’re never ever be God. It’s not possible, sorry. Audience: It’s a confusion. Babaji: Oh, it’s a big problem. Some people in India started this theory about fifteen hundred years ago. The idea behind this theory, is that when you attain pure spiritual quality, then merge with God. But this theory requires that God is impersonal. Audience: Meaning that he is divided. Babaji: Yes this is another interpretation. God becomes divided into all of us, right. But if God becomes divided, then what’s the meaning of God? You see that’s the incorrect application of material understanding to spiritual things. That’s why I say it is so important to understand the difference between material and spiritual. So, let’s get clear about it right now, because everything in the course is based on this. God is also a person like us. But he is the Supreme Person, unlimited person, a person who can manifest unlimited forms, unlimited personalities who are all Him, but different from ours. So, God can be with me and you, and you, and you, and you, and everybody simultaneously, fully present as a person. Audience: But He doesn’t need for us to be God. Babaji: Why? He’s got it already covered. He doesn’t need any help. So, then the next question is; why do we exist? He enjoys us, he likes us. So, we exist for God’s enjoyment. And we come to this world, where you cannot see God. Why? Because we’re the rebellious ones. We want to be away from God. We don’t want God to enjoy us. “No, I’m going to go and live my own life, in my own way, be a rugged individual.” So, we come to this world, God lets us come here because He loves us, He wants to satisfy our desire. So, when we desire to go away, He says, “Well I’m going to miss you, but bye.” And then He comes with us in an invisible form as the witness. So, we are not really away from God, but we have illusion of being away from God. So we live in this material world, but because we live on our own account, we have to be responsible for the fruits of our actions; because we want to be the cause, we have to be subject to the effect. That’s why there is karma, but when we live for God and we just serve Him and love Him, no more karma. That’s the key to freedom. That’s the solution to all the problems. See, that’s the way out of the mess that we’re in. So, would you like to know how to do that? Audience: Yes. Babaji: This is secret. It’s just a tiny little secret. Actually it is an open secret. Given in any religion and any scripture in the world; the name of God. What does Jesus say? “Only in the name of God will you be saved.” We have time for one more thing here. We are running out of time. Everyone take one of these (Japa Beads) I want everybody to see the nice picture, which we had so much trouble to make. So, the secret is chanting the Name of God. And this is the method that we follow. And it’s the most powerful way to rediscover our spiritual consciousness. So, because this is the secret teachings of Jesus, we’re going to teach to the Jesus Mantra. Jesus
