1. How do I access the collection?
If you are using a computer that does not automatically open the collection after inserting the DVD, you should navigate to the contents of the disk:
* On the Macintosh (OS 9 or OS X), click on the 60BTG_DISC1 or 60BTG_DISC2 that has been mounted on your desktop. On this disk, you should see a file named START.HTML. Double click this file to access the collection.
* On the PC (Windows 9x, NT, 2000, XP), double-click on My Computer and navigate to the disc labeled 60BTG_DISC1 or 60BTG_DISC2. Double click START.HTML.

2. I don't want to use this internet browser, how do I use my preferred browser?
Depending on how your particular computer is configured, the collection may open in a browser you don't want to use, or are not familiar with. It is possible to access the collection in your preferred browser by following these steps:
A. Open your preferred browser as you normally would for accessing the internet. B. In the upper right-hand corner, click on "File" and then "Open." You will be asked to specify a file to open. C. Navigate to the location on the BTG disc or, if you have installed the collection on your hard drive, navigate to the directory into which it was installed. (On the PC, this directory is Program Files\60 Years of BTG.) D. Open the file START.HTML.

3. Why can't I view the PDFs?
If you have more than one internet browser installed on your personal computer, you may have some trouble viewing the PDF files within a particular browser. If this is the case, try following the instructions under question #2 above. When Adobe Acrobat was installed, it may have only associated itself with one browser.
If you are viewing the collection from your hard drive only, you may have not chosen to install the PDFs during the advanced install. In this case, you must either install them, or access the collection seperately from the DVD.

4. Why is everything so slow?
The PDFs of the BTG issues are large: around 30 MB each. Make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements listed on the back of the DVD case.
Running from the DVD will be slower than running from your hard drive. If you have the available space (6 GB), you can install and access the complete collection from your hard drive.
On the PC, just click on "Install" from the opening screen, or run install.exe from the DVD disc.
On the Mac, you have to create a directory in your Applications folder, such as "60 Years of BTG." Copy the entire contents of the DVD disc into that directory. If you are only copying a single disc, double-click START.HTML to access the collection. If you have copied both sides of the DVD disc, double-click index_full.html to access the full index.

5. Can I search?
It is possible to search within the article index or a single issue using your internet browser's search feature. For most browsers you can click on Edit, then click Find. Your browser will search for your keywords within the page you happen to be viewing. More advanced searching can be performed with the Bhaktivedanta VedaBase®.
